As our mind goes to our return to PNG next month (Wow! That’s soon!), we’ve been thing about what life in Kovol is going to look like. We’re excited that after years of language learning and preparation our team is looking to start our first literacy class.

Amazing! I know how difficult it can be to teach someone who has never been to school before to read in a second language (English). But it sounds like it goes a lot more quickly to teach reading in their heart language. It is vastly more difficult for you all on the front end to learn the language, and develop the materials, but so encouraging to hear that the people’s experience of learning to read is that it is effective and fairly quick!!!

Dear friends, thanks for sharing this video. It makes me all the more enthusiastic and waiting for the moment that the Kovol people will be able to read and write in their own language and especially when they will be able to read the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ in their own language.
